About Brown HT

Brown HT is a synthetic coal tar diazo dye used for application in foodstuffs, mainly confectionery products. Also known as Chocolate Brown HT, Food Brown 3, and C.I. 20285, this is used as a substitute for cocoa or caramel as a colorant. Brown HT's E number is E155 when used as a food dye.
